Chris Coveney organised a trip to Ireland for a meander (a multi-day row down a river) on the River Shannon. Martin Black and Ricardo Davies supported two crews made up of Nigel, Leigh, Bern, Jane, John, Viv, another Nigel and of course Chris, in two of our venerable skiffs.

They travelled across the Irish Sea to Carrick on Shannon and enjoyed five days of rowing through loughs and locks fuelled by Guinness and diddly diddly music. Jane gained another gold star for accompanying a pub band on the fiddle. There’s a double entendre for you.

The weather was “mixed” but everyone had a great time and made it home in one piece.
