This year’s Egham Regatta seemed to have more fine boats than ever – with a very tiny skiffing entry slipping in between some of the other races. Sadly the punting racing was cancelled due to lack of entries – disappointing for Jane and Martin who turned up early with a sheaf of poles. Derek and Sally made their debut regatta race in mixed novice restricted doubles, while Jane and Sally entered the ladies novice doubles – a valiant performance by all, but sadly outclassed in both cases by a strong Valley crew. But David Sawtell saved Skiff Club’s pride by scooping two trophies – Gents Junior Singles and Gents Mixed Doubles, with a composite crew (a Wraysbury club member kindly stepped in to take Josh’s place). Congratulations to David!
